Modular ice ax for technical mountaineering

The SUM’TEC ice ax is a real all-rounder: it adapts to all tours, from classic to technical mountaineering. Thanks to its modular concept, it can be optimized according to requirements. The TRIGREST finger rest, adjustable without tools, and compatibility with most Petzl accessories (PUR'ICE and DRY picks, MASSELOTTE weights, etc.) ensure the necessary efficiency in difficult passages.

Sophisticated technology:
- The pointed ICE pick grips any type of ice.
- The TRIGREST finger rest allows you to quickly adjust the hand or index finger position for using the device as a pulling pick without tools.
- Shaft with steel tip for good grip when used as a walking stick pick.
Versatility:
- Curved shaft allows for precise placement while protecting the hand.
- The shaft is just enough to facilitate penetration into the snow and provide the necessary comfort when walking.
Full modularity thanks to the ALPEN ADAPT system:
- Thanks to the modular head, the technical characteristics of the ice tool can be adapted to the intended tour.
- Interchangeability of the ICE, PUR'ICE, DRY and PUR'DRY picks to adapt the ice ax to the requirements of the tour (snow, ice or mixed terrain).
- Shovel and hammer are replaceable.
- Addition of hit weights possible to improve hitting performance.
- Available in two versions: shovel or hammer.
